Box Set Image
« on: July 05, 2014, 12:07:42 pm »

Is it possible to be able to set an image for a Box Set that is different from the images for each of the albums contained in the Box Set

Example:
ABBA - The Albums

This box set contains 10 albums each with their own image as shown below:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/7tnon67v8ynafk9/BoxSetContentsView.JPG

When I view the entire Box Set it shows the cover for the first album

What I would like to do is set the BoxSet image to something different from the contents

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks!

P.S. Tried to use the insert image tag in this message but couldnt get it to work

+1 as well, but also for TV shows and film series'

If you take a folder layout like:

Film Series/TV Show/Album Name
---Film/Season/Album 1
---Film/Season/Album 2
---Film/Season/Album 3

If the top level folder contains folder.jpg, that should be used for the film/TV series' cover art. Or you should be able to right click the top level and assign cover art there.

As it presently is, I think using the covert art or thumbnail from the first file inside the root is a bit limited.

Yes

Use the 'Series' tag field to enter the box set name.
Create an audio view and make it a 'Category' type view.
In the view use category "Series" followed by "Album"

Add the box set artwork to the Series folder located in MC's cover art folder.
See location in Options->File Location->Cover Art

If you only want to see box sets in your view, you can make a rule in 'Set rules for file display' for Series is not empty.

Thank you so much! It works as you suggested.

I presume there must be a built in link between the Series tag and the coverart folder and the above would not work if a custom field was used to store the Bozed Set name?

I assume there's no equivalent for Theater View?
