PQ Mix Cannels
« on: July 05, 2014, 11:20:38 pm »

In DSP Studio, Parametric Equalizer, mix channels. I have a 5.1 speaker setup, In a 7.1 source I'm trying to move rear channels to Surround channels. I think it is working correctly but the source and destination channels seem backwards.  I have source SL Destination RL  source SR Destination RR.   Mode (Add source to destination)    I know, It works in Output Format JRSS mixing

                                                                   Thanks

I'm not sure if you have a question.  Your description makes it sound like it's working properly.

I do have it working, but it took well over an hour to figure it out.   I just thought you would like to know that (to me) it doesn't seem right.
It seem all you would have to do is add rears to surrounds, did not work.
added surrounds to rear then it played properly out of the surrounds.   That's all     Works good

If you want to move the channels, you should select the mode as "Swap (swap source and destination)" rather than add.

5.1 channels does the channels in this order:

1-L
2-R
3-C
4-LFE
5-LS
6-RS

7.1 channels does the channels in this order:
1-L
2-R
3-C
4-LFE
5-RL
6-RR
7-SL
8-SR

This is why you had to add surrounds to rears. You were still physically connected to channels 5 & 6.
