I did use iTunes to rip to Apple Lossless. However, I do not understand what you mean by "secure ripping tool" -- would you please explain?

XLD is recommended for flawless FLAC/ALAC ripping on Mac... until MC for Mac supports ripping someday. :)

Thanks for the guidance.

I have had good results with XLD for conversions, hadn't realized it had the secure ripping capability. Works well.

dbpoweramp shows some promise, but the Mac version is very much a beta. Had a lot of issues using it...
