Optical disc video playback
« on: July 29, 2014, 08:00:49 am »

Is it possible to playback a video on disc, in an optical drive, using JRemote or Gizmo? Playback implies: play, stop, pause, select episode, etc.

I would like to view the video on a monitor, not the device running JRemote or Gizmo.

Gizmo has a "theater view remote" function, which emulates a "normal" remote in theater view, and will allow you to do what you're describing. I've used it myself to start DVD playback when I've misplaced my remote.  As long as the computer you're trying to play to is in theater view, you should be able to start, stop, etc.
