Network Primer

Here are some resources for how to use JRiver Media Center to play media in other locations on your network.

In brief, you can run Media Center on two or more PC's or Mac's and play media in either direction.  For example, you might store your media on a machine in your home office, then play it in the living room.

You can use several different remotes to control playback.  Two of the most common are Gizmo (for Android) and JRemote (for iOS)

You can also play media from MC to a DLNA Renderer, or play media from a DLNA Server to MC.

You can play to several locations at once by using Zones.

If you have questions, please search first, then post.  Post in a similar topic if possible, or start a new topic on our Media Network board.

Start by reading Media Network.

On your server, you run Media Server on startup.  See the Startup options.

To listen, you can use Gizmo or JRemote.

The path to the machine needs to be open, so read about Network Access.  Set it up locally first, just to learn how it works.
