New Version
« on: August 01, 2014, 11:28:08 am »

I received an email about version 20. Will it be easier to use? This is the most non-intuitive software I've ever tried to use.
It does crazy stuff and there is apparently no way to fix. For esample
Today I ripped a disk. In audio album view, the first track shows up in a different album (ie. there are two albums with the same name. One has track 1 and the other has the remaining tracks). On the disk they are all in one folder. If there is a way to fix this in MC I sure can't find it.!!! I've tried deleting from the library and reimporting. No fix.
I just can't make any sense out of this software at all.

That's not normal.  Please describe exactly what you did.  Make sure you're ripping (not copying files from a CD with Explorer, for example).

I ripped the disc using MC. I tried deleting both albums from MC and disk and re-ripping. But I still got the same result.

Try assigning an Album Artist value to all the tracks.

As # suggests, select all tracks (from both albums). Then go to the action pane (bottom left). And select Tag. Then select the correct album name or write it your self. That way, the album name tag should be the same for all tracks. Album artist value are used if the tracks artist field varies. For mixed CD's, collaborations with multiple artists etc.

Making tags same and restarting jrmc fixed the problem. Thanx.
Did I do something wrong to cause this?

probably, there's a track on the album that has a different artist (i.e. featuring so and so).  that happens to me a lot with hip hop albums where if i don't pay attention while ripping, i get a bunch of different copies of the same album

it's easy to fix in the tagging afterwards, or do it all before the rip
