Slowness with remote library.
« on: August 10, 2014, 11:02:16 am »

I have the following setup.

1. A fileserver - This has my main library, all other computer accesses this main library
2. 2 HTPCs and my main computer, which runs MC "normally", using the library on the fileserver.
3. A Second server with 4 USB sound cards, this plays from the fileserver library for my whole-house sound-system. This is controlled by Gizmo.

For all computers this works fine, except for the second server. The problem is that is it somewhat slow, its often a pause between the songs on the album, often 5 seconds or more, sometimes the same happens when choosing a different song. I think the reason is that i do not have mapped up my music drives on the second server. The default setting is to use a "local drive", when the file is the same place on the client as the server. However since the drives are mapped, it shouldn't make any difference, its all transfered over the same gigabit network no matter what. So how can I make this be a bit more quick and responsive?
