False start playing tracks
« on: August 16, 2014, 06:23:34 am »

I searched in FAQ and didn't find an answer to what for many may be an easy to answer question.
I'm running version 19 using Windows 8.1.  In playing tracks using the "Direct Sound" option they start, play for a second, stop, and then begin again and play through.  This doesn't happen when I use the "WASAPI" option.  Why is this so? Also, in principle, should one option be preferred to another?  Thanks for any information.

I use JRemote, and I find the next track to play at least looks like it starts for a second or two, goes back starts again and mostly goes a third time before the track plays.  I do not get any sound on what what appears as false starts.  Since I use gapless setting, it's easy to notice.
