How do I add a genre to an album that I ripped?

I have read way too many instructions about editing tags etc & nothing seems to address what I want to do.
I imported a CD & there is nothing listed in the Genre column. All I want to do is add the genre & if I ever find out how, I will want to edit the genre for other albums. I know, or hope, that this is a simple thing to do, but I have tried everything I used to do in Zune or iTunes with no joy.

Did you rip the CD?  If so, select the files and click on Tag in the Action Window (lower left corner).

If not, insert the CD and choose Rip in the Action Window.  It will probably find the genre.
