I have an old Snapstream Firefly RF remote that I want to use to control MC in Theater Mode.

Right now only the arrows and play button work. What do I need to do to get full functionality?

(I have tried EventHost, and spent a lot of time programming the buttons, then upon re-start these were lost. I'm willing to do this again and try to save them, but I'm wondering if there's an easier way.)

Sorry didn't see this earlier, not been around much.  You might try LMRemote freeware.  I currently use version 7.4 which appears to be available here http://lm-remote-keymap.software.informer.com/ The original authors web site is down as it appears he moved and has not yet re-established his web site ref this comment https://twitter.com/lmgestion/status/516540775333498880

As I recall there are some wrinkles to installing the FireFly but if you already have it installed and working then you may just need to install LMRemote.
