How do I run pc games(using JRiver's engine) in bit-perfect?
« on: September 12, 2014, 09:05:09 pm »

Hello guys, a couple months ago I got JRiver's MC 19 and love it :) . I am new to the Hi-Fi world and would like someone to guide me. I was told by someone that I can use JRiver's engine to run PC games in Bit-Perfect. Also, is Media Center 20 a good upgrade from Media Center 19?

If your game supports ASIO output you can use JRiver audio engine as an ASIO driver

We hope to someday create a Windows driver (WDM) of the same thing so that any program can use this.  This would open this feature up to games, web browsers, etc.

If your system can support a low enough latency, it should be possible to use Loopback for this.

You won't get "bit-perfect" output from a game, since it'll resample to whatever your sound device is set to, but you can take advantage of Media Center's DSP.
