After much searching online, I found this document on the Apple website that explains how to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) if one is having trouble getting a Mac to recognize an Apple Super Drive. After applying the fix, the Mac saw the drive and thus MC 20 for Mac was able to initiate the ripping function.
