[Searching for help] MCWS Command to create a global hotkey
« on: September 17, 2014, 06:49:36 am »

I don't have an idea of how anything connected to MCWS works, but there is an function in MC20 which I 'd like to use.

I am looking for a possibility to control the (relative) tempo of a song via a global hotkey. Global hotkeys for MC are defined in the resource.xml located in the custom resources directory. As far as I know there only can be used Media Center Core Commands or any kind of command line which would work in Windows "Run"-Box.

What do I have to do to make the MCWS command for controlling the tempo of a playing file usable in resource.xml? Or is there any other way to make a global shortcut that uses MCWS commands?

Thanks for helping me out here :)

I suppose you've been to the DevZone.  Developer link at the bottom.

I of course already looked in the developer zone and did it once again. But it looks, as if resource.txt only provides the power to define global shortcuts for MCC Commands. I was in the hope someone could guide me to a work around... Perhaps someone who knows how to use MCWS properly. I'm not able even for testing to change the song tempo using MCWS :(

So still no solution here for me? And it looked so promising...
