Mouse Issues
« on: September 23, 2014, 10:01:31 am »

Frequently, while using JRiver Media Center, I lose mouse capability.  Sometimes the mouse cursor just stops moving, and sometimes the cursor disappears altogether.  Occasionally, I can "wake" up the mouse by hitting <esc>, but often I have to exit and re-load.  Is this unique to me?  I am running JRiver 20 on a brand new Acer computer with latest Windows.  The computer is used soley for Media Center.  No multi-tasking, or unusual processes running in the background.

Do you have Logitech software installed?  It sometimes does funny things.

Is it a wireless mouse?  Try removing the receiver and replacing it.

There isn't anything Media Center does that could cause that.

Next time this happens, press alt-tab and ensure that MC is at the front/has focus. Even if MC is the application on-screen, sometimes other installed software steals focus invisibly and hides the mouse cursor from view.
