A (probably) simple Smart Playlist question
« on: October 01, 2014, 10:58:52 pm »

Hi there,

I've been looking for some documentation on the available options for smart playlists but can't seem to dig much up. I have two questions

1) Is there some detailed documentation about advanced rules anywhere? (I've seen the wiki... it doesn't seem to cover much?)

2) How can I create a smart playlist that contains only Album Artists beginning with a range of letters (Eg A-M)?

I need to split my library up between the two uSD cards in my FiiO X5 and figure this would be a pretty simple way to do it, but can't seem to get a range of letters.

Thanks for any help
Paul

Did you see: Search Expressions
or, Expression Language

Those two pages should not leave much lacking?

[=isrange([album artist],a-m)]=1 will give you that.

Thank you.

For some reason I couldn't find the 'Expression Language' page. My search-fu failed me.

You're welcome. Add them to your bookmarks, they're a great rescource.

If I remember correctly, it might have been the wiki's fault as I'm sure its search is case sensitive, which is not entirely helpful, really.
