Can I suggest separate forums for 7.2 and 8.0?
« on: January 31, 2002, 10:10:31 am »

I've noticed a tendency for newbies with problems with 7.2 to get swamped by people chatting about 8.0 beta. It might make more sense for them to have separate forums. It might also prevent a lot of whining like:

I try to do x and MJ crashes. Why don't J River make their software right? I don't like paying for software that crashes. There's not enough support. Why are you asking me what version I'm running? They should all work. I don't know what OS I'm running. etc.

from people who don't understand the difference between release software and beta programmes.

We aren't going to separate the forum now.  It isn't a big problem as it is.

The mood of new users has been a little impatient the last few days, but that seems to happen when we get new exposure in places like CNET.  My theory is that it brings in a wave of people who have used simple players, and they get frustrated with the complexity of a jukebox.
