Can i use jriver as control point without remote
« on: October 22, 2014, 10:22:54 am »

I want to stream whatever music is playing locally on my pc to my dlna capable reciever, and without using an iphone or android remote.  I want the pc to be the control point.

And if so, how do i do that?

nevermind, i got that working by searching dlna

I bought jriver, and switched to foobar, because it seemed easier to use, but after not being able to get foobar gui to work as the control point, i am switching back (grin)....but one thing i liked about foobar is that i could use folders as my genre..can i do that with jriver?

e.g., my music is alredy configured in genres i want

F:\music\50s rock
F:\music\60s-70s rock
F:\music\80s and newer rock
Jazz
Soul
Country

etc....

can i use my folder structure for my genres in jriver?

You will need to populate the Genre tag with the values you want to use.  Either manually, or with 'fill properties from filename' under library tools.
