I have x factor files 25fps that will not play with my audio settings.

Playback could not be started using format 48khz 32 bit 6ch

This will only play in 2 channel.

My settings are HDMI RO standard wasapi 24bit integer in 32bit package source number of channels

I have auto display changing set.

I have intermittent problems with 25fps files that usually play if I turn of display changing.

This did not fix this sound problem

Does your hardware support 32-bit multichannel audio? Many cannot.

You would probably have more success just sending 24-bit integer.

Tools->Options->...Device Settings...>(Bitdepth) 24-bit integer

Or setting it to automatic and letting MC decide what is best.

the only way I can get these mp4 25fps to play are with direct sound.

All I have is WASAPI and direct sound

Not sure.  The only file I could quickly find that was close (MPEG-4 Visual, AAC, 25 FPS) is a .mov file, not an mp4.  I also have .mov set to play using QuickTime (for proper auto rotation of iPhone videos).  It plays fine with WASAPI for me.

Maybe there is a program that i can check what codec has been used during the conversion.

Can you upload a 2 minute sample somewhere?

1.  Download MKVToolNIX and run MKV Merge GUI
2.  Drag your video into the "Input Files" section.
3.  In the Global tab select "Split by parts based on timecodes" and enter 00:01:00-00:03:00 or something similar.
4.  At the bottom of the window, mux to an MKV file and upload it.

I am at the moment changing this to mkv to see if it will play.

I have been reading on whirlpool and it does sound like some 25fps mp4 are problematic.

I just did a test with several different mp4 videos and noticed mine only seems to have trouble with the audio and video in the files encoded at 25.00 FPS and aac. Usually all the British shows

I did notice that when theses particular files are imported they are tagged as a movie and not tv show.

My British TV shows are mostly .mkv and come in tagged as a TV show.  I am not sure how carnac determines that, but I find it is more right than wrong for me.  The files are already in a Series\Season folder structure when I import them.
