I swear it used to...but I have noticed lately that when I record a new season of TV episodes, it doesn't add cover art for that season...see attached image.

If its a new season fresh of the air, there may not be a season cover yet. They sometimes take a bit until people submit them.

I'm talking about shows that I bought, ripped and imported so they are from last year. Walking Dead S3 comes to mind.

Normally yes. If it doesn't, right click in normal view on the thumbnail/cover art of the serie, and select 'cover art' 'get from internet'.
I got the walking dead season art like that . Also you should proper name the files, and put it the correct folders, like TV SHOWS/The walking dead/season 1/the.walking.dead.S01E01.mkv). auto import should be pointed to the TV SHOWS folder, and auto import should apply the tag tv show for that folder in the settings.
Next time you start the program and auto import, it should be there.

I don't see any option for cover art in Standard View. The only thumbnails I see are for the episodes.

I posted two printscreens, as you see when you right-click the general thumbnail, you get the season art.

I spoke too soon. Even after I make those changes the artwork doesn't show. I have tried selecting the first episode and the whole season.

refresh the view, or go to another view and come back.  they don't seem to update in real-time; not for me anyway.

Also, in the list of results, each season should be listed on the left, which allows you to pick a different cover for each season.  if you don't pick one for any season, it won't have anything 'automagically' assigned to it.

Now, should MC be doing this as part of auto-import; I'm not sure, but I'd suggest that yes, it should.

I even quit MC and re-opened it multiple times. Granted I'm doing this on a client but I sync the library. I'll check the main HTPC later.

Ah, I don't think this is a 'client enabled' action.  I think it needs done on the server.  I'm not positive, as I don't really use clients in my setup.

Yes this must be done from the server PC (their is an exception but hey ) Syncing won't work for artwork (most of the time )

Just use Teamviewer its free and then you can still work from the client PC. Better than remote desktop and no learning curve.
