think i need new video card...suggestions?
« on: November 02, 2014, 04:23:06 pm »

i have a radeon HD5700, it has been working fine for some time.  but now it's starting to make a mess with my 4 monitor setup (2 monitors, a TV and a projector), i think it's the card on it's last legs (the display adapter port has stopped functioning regularly)

what is a good suggestion for a full madVR card?  i've read a few threads here about some, but i don't know too much about cards...i DON'T EVER, ever play games on the PC, but what i want is robust multi-monitor support

cost is no object but i don't need bells and whistles, just robust multi-monitor and capability to keep up with JRiver's full features (ROHQ).  would really prefer ATI only because i've always used them and i know the UI well

thanks!

It depends on what you will be using the card to do. You really can't buy too powerful a card for "full" madVR. I use an Asus R9 290x Directcu card. It can do all aspects of madVR well. However, I  am not sure any card on the market can do all aspects of madVR at max setting with all resolutions.

Sapphire Radeon R7 260X - good balance between cost and performance/noise. Can run 32 neuron NEDI Image doubling, Jinc 3 Chroma & De-interlacing at 50hz 576i->1080p and 59hz 1080i.
