Label Wizard:

[X] Print Background Image
[X] Use Image From File

You can't uncheck "[X] Use Image From File"

Don't see any point in it any how If unchecking "[X] Print Background Image" does the same thing

Hi,
Select All in Media Library (2212 files), then right click and select Properties. The counter screen is back (I think it disappeared in 188) - thanks! The count got to 5 of 2212 and then locked.

MJ was then locked until it completed gathering the properties (around 3 minutes I think but I didn't time it). By locked it looked dead to the world although CPU usage was around 40%.

Playback continued but the display (seconds elapsed etc.) was not updated.

Changed: Visualization studio disables scaling at window sizes below 160x120.

I don't know for everybody else, but for me, this is a little too small. For instance, the WMP skin I did has a vis window of 227x164, so MJ still scales the visualizations, and they still look bad.

And it also doesn't appear to be working. The Goo skin has a vis window of 63x63 and the visualizations are still scaling.

16. Changed: List of playlists in "Quick Play" is sorted

Sweet. Now if we can just get the actual files sorted the same way we have specified in Tree & View Settings. Next Page

One strange thing I noticed about Quick Play. If you start scrolling a list, it doesn't stop scrolling until you either click on something or make it scroll in the opposite direction.

Hi,
The contents of Quick Play are sorted but they only include Playlists and not SmartLists and the other "special" kinds of playlist - Top hits, Recently Imported etc.

With the new playback features, double clicking in the view pane doesn't follow the rules. It's always standard instead of crossfade between tracks.

Playback sometimes gets muted but it's not.

It shows that it's playing with the seconds and what not but no sound. Mute is off. Requires a restart and then it fine again. Did it on ape/apl/mp3 files.

I thought replay gain and other stuff was supposed to be saved to apl/mp3s etc? Nothing that was saved got reimported into MJ (clean library, full import).

Well I guess only about 5 mp3s still have the info. The rest, including apl, don't have anything.

Yeah Dragyn, I bet that's what happened.  Maybe you missed that warning a few builds back when the meta-data format changed.

You need to do an "Update All Files" with "Extended Fields" enabled.

Hope you didn't lose much time...

(and do you still have those buffering woes with APL files?)

I saw the warning and did that when it was introduced. From the last two builds or so, I started everything clean. Actually here is what I did recently..

I would d/l mp3s and I would import them into MJ on this machine. Fix the tags (id3v2, replay gain, etc). Then I would make a copy of that file to another drive, and I would also copy it over the network. On the network computer (same version), I would import that file. Check the replay gain, tags, etc and it would be fine.

So everytime I upgrade to a new build, I have to update everything again? I don't get this. Anytime this happens, I would start a new library, import the files, and I would think since the data is stored in the file, MJ should see it automatically.

Are you changing the way the data is read and stored in the database/file in each build or is it a bug?

Is there another program that will read this data (replay gain, custom fields, album art, etc) other than MJ in the file or is it MJ specific?

Am I the only one with this problem? I'm having bad luck with computers lately...

(Oh and I sent you an email about the apl files)

LCtheDJ,

I'm stumped with that m3u importing deal.  It just works on my machine.  We'll test more though once things slow down a bit, and I know you've told us a hundred times already, but please keep on reminding us until it works.  Thanks for understanding.

Dragyn,

There have only been 2 metadata formats.  The original one and the one we switched to (XML) just the other day.  So, one update should be enough.  Maybe something is clearing the metadata though.  I'm not sure.  Can you reproduce it losing the information? (and tell us about it) Thanks.

MJ would crash when double clicking on any playlist.  Work fine when select "play" on the pop-up menu.

- CD & DVD files are shown in my Playlist group where I created a smartlist to exclude all files that have no genre
- In visualisations & is displayed as underscore (_) (also in Mini me)
- How can I see what filter I'm using to play without having to go the the options menu ?
- Is there a way to play random songs so it plays songs more often with rating 5 and less often songs with rating 1 ?
- When importing via the right mouse button or because of putting them in a playlist, the files do not appear in  recently imported
- Can there be put a "select all" in the right mouse menu if in devices (my usb device)
- Is it possible to have the current TIME somewhere when in full screen mode ? (e.g. on the bottom bar in the right corner)
- REMAINING_TIME always shows 0:00 when using it in the XML file for in a skin
- Quick Play does not show Smartlists
- When going into options and then exit options, Media Scheduler is always put in the taskbar, even when Media Scheduler is disabled

I had the same problem LCtheDJ had with importing leaving off some mp3 entries on the m3u playlists.  I deleted the bad playlists and tried again with no problems.  Don't know what happened the first time but on a list of about 120 I would lose 15-20 songs.  Shorter lists lost fewer songs and really short lists didn't lose any songs on import.

bennyd> Settings -> Options -> File Associations, make sure that "Always take control of file types" is unchecked. If it's checked, then Media Scheduler will run, as it's the part of MJ that takes control of file types. This is in addition to the checkbox for Enable Media Scheduler.

How about a simple "(requires Media Scheduler)" after "Always take control of file types"? Would that clear up confusion about it? Put it on the File Assoications options, and in the Installer when it asks about file associations?

A couple of more things : ELAPSED_TIME is broken in this build as well, not just REMAINING_TIME.

And forget that whole thing about Quick Play scrolling continuosly. It wasn't doing it this morning at home, and it's not doing it here at work, either. It must have just been some random glitch on my system last night.

Sometime ago there was reference to a feature that would be available in MJ8.0. It involved being able to load CD track info into the music library representing audio CDs in your collection without actually ripping them to the PC. This would allow a complete picture of your music library.

Is this feature included or in the works?

I'm not sure what's up with this, but the last few builds have seemed more unstable than usual. They've been crashing on me a lot, and for some reason I always associate it (in my head) with the visualizations. It just seems as though every crash I've experienced has had a vis involved in some way. I've disabled visualizations and so far I haven't experienced a crash.

I just re-enabled visualizations, turned scaling off, went back to MEGA-ME, then back to mini-me and MJ crashed. The file in question is vsc_default.dll.

With Default Playback mode set to Standard 0.5s, MJ cuts off the end of each song. Setting it to gapless alleviates the pain.. er... problem.

I second that "cuts off the end" problem -- it seems to cut about four seconds off the end of any playback.

I also am having problems adjusting track gap. When you click on the icon where track gap used to be, there is no selection for different gap settings. Can get around though by going into "settings" and changing it there.

This may be an old problem but I just noticed it today. When playing music from CD, the buffering comes on quite frequently; at least 60 times for a 4 minute song. Is this normal or does something need fixed?

Hi,
A CDDB bug - looks to be easily reproducable...

Select a file, get the properties and the do a CDDB lookup on it. (It then doesn't appear to matter if the lookup returns a file or not.)

Cancel out of the change to the properties and then select a different file. Open the properties and then do a CDDB lookup - MJ crashes and burns.

Playing around some more here it looks like the failure happens in 1 of 3 ways...

1) XP notes that the app has failed and gives me the Send / Don't Send dialog.

2) MJ just stops running / disappears.

3) I get a C|PLS||PLS| run time error from MJ

Yeah, that's happening here, too.

Here's what I did.

I picked a file, opened it up in File Properties, had it grab info from CDDB. When the box came up asking me to pick which album I wanted, I clicked cancel. I then clicked Ok, and then canceled out of File Properties.

I then picked a different file, and tried to do the same procedure. As soon as it tried to go out to CDDB, MJ crashed.

Here's the message I got.
