detach display + teamviewer = MC crash
« on: September 12, 2014, 04:27:56 pm »

if teamviewer is running (in the systray, no active connections) MC crashes if I detach\reattach the display.

sometimes it crashes at the first detach command, but usually it takes 2 or more detach\reattach actions and then it always crashes.
100% reproducible.

i've had this issue with MC19 and HD2500 and now I've upgraded to MC20 and HD4600 but the problem is still here.

any chance of JRiver wanting to investigate this issue?

doesn't matter whats' being played.
actually it crashes even if MC is playing nothing
exiting teamviewer solves the issue

no other program on my PC crashes while teamvirewer is in the systray

I can provide an MC log (if someone explains to me how to post here the MC zipped log)

does this work?

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56306498/JRiverLog2014-11-07%2020-01-34.zip

I just removed a subdir and spaces in the filename but is shouldn't make any difference.
It's inside the dropbox Public folder and according to their documentation anything inside it can be accessed by anyone if the URL to the file is given to them
I tested it with a browser from which I never logged in to dropbox and it's working.
But I did the same test with the previous link, so I don't know why it's not working for you.

Jim,
I don't get how that is related to my crash.
I have no Nvidia hw.
As far as bugs introduced in a driver version are concerned, I've been updating\rollingback sw, drivers and also hw (from 2500 to 4600) in the past couple of years and the crash is always there. Also I have no memory of any hw\sw\drivers combination where MC didn't crash in the specific scenario\action I described.

But I understand the formula: Intel video card + Teamviewer + Only when detaching\reattaching the display + Only one user reporting it = Not worth fixing it. And that would by my decision too if I owned JRiver  :)

I had this issue also a while ago with no resolution. Would be nice to get a fix.
