I fully realize I may be asking for the impossible here but I've been playing with Daphile which has an install size of about 300MB's (including the OS and GUI).

As someone who has used MC for years, I've loved the remarkable power and flexibility of the program.

As someone who knows just about nothing about Linux, is there a minimal Linux install that I could use which could be easily usable and/or learnable and would run MC?

I'm assuming MC for Linux (even when run headless) can be operated by JRemote, is that right?
