This is not a general remote control question, which is why I didn't post it in the "Remotes" section. It's specific to a missing feature in the MAC version, namely the hardware remote feature. In the Windows version I have the USBIRT receiver installed and set up so I can control MC by my home automation & whole house audio system using IR sequences. (Options->Devices & Devices & Options -> Remote Control -> USB-UUIRT.) Since I'm migrating to the MAC version I need to be able to control MC similarly with IR commands. USB-UUIRT is supposed to have some developer drivers for the MAC (their website says to contact them.) Also, the MAC has a built in IR receiver. Perhaps there is a SDK available to tap into it?

Will hardware (IR) remote control be put back into the MAC version at some point?
