Playback options in registry
« on: November 19, 2014, 02:37:38 pm »

I love JRiver especially the kernel streaming mode. I have slimmed my operating system (Windows XP) and lost my ability to set playback options in Media Center tools or options but I know eventually these settings go into the registry. Can you guys tell me where? In the registry I can set things to hopefully compensate for losing my ability to do same in the Media Center adjustments. I would like to understand where to adjust kernel streaming or asio, dsd plug in. Can you help? It sounds great with my slimmings so I don't want to start over.

You could probably fix it by reinstalling MC.

Even if I deleted the service that supports tool options?

Don't know.  It's your best option.

I know why I lost the tool playback option capability...its because I deleted some subsets of my Windows OS in effort to improve sonics and it did indeed improve sonics. I am not willing to give that up. If I start over I would have to reload Windows as well as Media Center 19 all over again. I would just like the ability to adjust playback options in the registry which will be at peril. I know how to do that. Can I get some help on the options thing?

If you're removing parts of the OS, we can't help you.  Unless something is broken, it won't improve the sound.

That is unfortunate for me. Btw I found zone and audio settings in the registry. I will have to experiment with different values on my own...unless you can at least tell me what they are.
