Aren't albums uniquely defined by their name?
« on: November 30, 2014, 12:28:10 pm »

I want to present podcasts series from the same source as albums. For this, I branded specific album names. Yet, in Albums view, files with distinct artists are shown separately and I did not manage to define a view showing podcasts from the same source as tracks in an album.

The solution from the wiki did not work (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Multiple_Artist_Albums)

Any suggestion?

sorry, I don't know what you mean. Podcast are external links right?  Changing an album view is easy enough, but I'm lost about podcasts ... do you mean you want to create a playlist for a podcast?

Could you give an example specifically showing what you want for an end result?

I also don't fully understand what you're trying to acocmplish, but if you want tracks grouped by album to show up together in an album view, you need to make sure that they share the same "album artist" tag as well as the same "album" tag.

Thank you both for your help.

I am downloading audio files from broadcasts manually. Their taggin is not appropriate for my global concept. One thing is tha I want all files from the same broadcast to appear as tracks of one single album. (I hope this description is more understandable than the first one...)

Anyway, the tag Album Artist is the key. Unifying it brings all tracks into the same album (given the album's name is already unified). Thanks for the hint.
