DLNA error on Resolution Audio Cantata
« on: December 01, 2014, 09:58:31 am »

- Media Server : MC 19 Mac
- Control Point : MC 19 Mac
- Media Rederer : Resolution Audio Cantata

JRMC19 does not support Gapless playback on Resolution Audio Cantata when JRMC19 work as a control point.
I already know that JRiver recommended to check "DLNA Controller Options - Disable SetNext" for the playback on RA Cantata.
However, this is just temporary fix and not real solution.
I found many reports where MC does not support gapless playback properly on RA Cantata from MC users on this forum, but there is no solution yet.

I kindly ask JRiver to fix this problem ASAP.
This is very long and urgent issue.

MC is perfectly able to support gapless on any renderer that has that feature. But if you have a renderer does not support this feature then there is nothing that MC can do about it. You would need to take up this issue with the renderer manufacturer.

EDIT: the following is a quote from the Resolution Audio web site...

We are developing a UPnP system and when that system represents our best thinking in terms of ease-of-use and real functionality, we will introduce it in the form of an upgrade. The new high speed board (24/192k) is in fact the platform upon which this system is being developed. You can count on us to not release this feature until it's truly useful to the end user. "Universal Plug-n-Play" (UPnP) is a complex protocol for controlling the functionality of components in a system. Its usefulness depends heavily on how it's implemented. Simply offering "UPnP compatibility" without really solving the entire problem is, in our opinion, not helpful at all. More confusion and support issues can be caused by an implementation that is lacking ease of use.

Thank you for response.
However, RA Cantata supports gapless playback properly following case:

- Media Server : MC 19 Mac
- Control Point : Bubble UPnP (on Android mobile devices)
- Media Rederer : Resolution Audio Cantata

I tried to send you another PM but it seems your mailbox is full. I just uploaded a new version of the DMRA tool, which should probably give more insight about the right settings in MC.
