DLNA Server Profiles
« on: December 22, 2014, 05:41:49 am »

Hi. Testing MC- build .50 and am having some troubles with different TV brands, if I configure the Generic Profile, all my Samsung TV's work great, however the Sony sets don't, if I add the Sony profile then the Sony is able to playback video files however the Samsung's stop, they give an error that the media format is not supported - that is with the Generic Profile which used to work (so 2 profiles).

When I remove the Sony profile, and only have the generic, the Samsung's still do not play video, they do play audio and display images. What is interesting is when selecting a file under video on the Samsung TV's, the size shows as zero, however before adding the Sony profile the size shows correct and they play (MKV).

So it's as if when I add the Sony profile, something is changed globally, even removing all profiles and re-adding Generic does not fix problem, only fix is to uninstall and re-install.

Any help would be appreciated. Looks like well polished software.

Create two servers. One server should have a profile that works with the Samsungs, and associate them with that server. The second server should have a profile that works with the Sonys, and asociate them with that server.

Thx, tried that, same thing, the really interesting part is when previewing files on the Samsung they show as 0.00B.

Somewhere in the server settings is a check box "enable bit rate" - try that.
