Question regarding MC 20 updates
« on: December 23, 2014, 12:19:29 pm »

For some unknown reason, when I try to upgrade to MC 20.0.50 from .49, I get a message that I need to enter my MC 20 key. But then I am told that MC 20 is only in the read only mode, so as soon as I try to reboot, I again have to re-enter the key.

Well, yesterday when I re-entered the key, I was rolled back to the 20.0.49 which is working well.

MY QUESTION: Can I await the next update and go from 20.0.49 and skip 20.0.50??

It shouldnt be rolling you back, is it possible you have installed 49 and 50 side by side? And if you get a read only message, then the library files are not under your ownership, they might belong to root.
I think you need to check how you are installing v50. Is it telling you it is replacing v49 with v50?

Thank you both for your replies. Since .49 is working well and it is looking to be a very busy and Merry Christmas eve and Christmas, I'm going to stick with .40 through at least these two days and worry about it after Christmas.
All y'all have a very merry Christmas (and Boxing Day if you are a part of the Commonwealth). We split in 1776!
