Can'n find recording off tape
« on: January 23, 2002, 06:54:30 pm »

I've tried to record off a tape and used mixer for input 'cause it was the only option. It seemed it was recording someting, but I can't find the file. From what I've read, it should show up in media library, but it's not there. I even searched my hd for it and didn't find it. Any clues what's happening?

Hi Andy

It should have dropped the file into the folder that is specified in Options/File Naming & Locations - Output File Location. If you did'nt name the file when recording, I think, if memory serves correctly, that it will create a file named mixer01 or mixer02 etc. Perhaps it'd be worth a search of your hdd using mixer*.* and seeing if that finds it.

Good Luck - Jim

I'm having this same problem.

If I have Rip & Encode Simultaneously checked, and record something from Line-in, SOMETIMES, MJ fails to import the file after recording and if I go find the file under Explorer I can SOMETIMES find it but it will be unplayable.

If I turn Rip & Encode Simulataneously off, the problem goes away.

I've only had this happen using APE - High, but that's the only encoder setting I use for this task.
