Try pressing stop not pause.

Pressing stop doesn't clear now playing - the issue is the same if you play an album from beginning to end and allow the album to finish playing without intervening - the album plays to the end of the last track correctly but then the 'Now Playing" still shows the album. Running JRiver music centre 20 on WIN7Pro and cannot successfully get computer to sleep - power settings have been carefully set. Have to believe the "Now playing"  issue is causing JRiver MC20 on the PC to keep the PC awake ie not letting it sleep after the programmed time in power settings. Tried gizmo on a different android platform with the same result. Playing out of the PC into a USB DAC.  Appreciate any advice/help - are special settings in JRiver MC required or do i need to use an android based app to put the PC to sleep.

Just having a playlist in Now Playing will not prevent sleep, as long as its not playing (or paused). Once playback actually stops, any wake locks are released.

Thanks for getting back.
If "now playing" in stopped state releases all keep awake states, then this is obviously not the source of the problem! The network adapter settings on the laptop need to be set to allow wake up of the pc for gizmo to wake up the pc if it is asleep. Could the problem be another computer on the network broadcasting some packet/data (over the network) be  preventing the pc running JRiver MC20 from going to sleep?
Really appreciate your help.
