Mac Keyboard Shortcuts?
« on: December 29, 2014, 10:02:45 am »

http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Keyboard_Hot-keys is for the Windows version. It appears that in general, the Mac version follows the standard win/mac convention that windows "control" changes to "command" in Mac.

Any exceptions?

Key thing I am looking for is a shortcut for "Clear Playing Now" -- I gather that the Mac version does not support the add-on for user-defined shortcuts.

+1 for User defined Key Commands

You can customize the keyboard shortcuts by editing [MC]\Data\Default Resources\Resource.xml

I think the wiki has a bunch more information on it.  Here's some of it:

Thanks Matt, wasn't aware of that wiki entry.

Got a problem. Added:

  <Entry Key="Ctrl;Shift;P" Command="25014" Param="0" />

to Resource.xml in general shortcuts section. Works.

However, Yosemite keeps putting up (attached screenshot) an "accept incoming network connections" dialog box every time I start MC20. Sometimes freezes app for a few seconds. Doesn't happen with unmodified Resource file.

Any fix?

the above shortcut works great. the actual shortcut execution is cmd+shift+P

I do NOT get your network alert (incoming network conn. is not blocked in my firewall either)

We should note for users that the Resources.xml file syntax uses Windows key conventions: thus, "Ctrl" results in using the command key on Mac, and "Alt" translates to the Mac Option key. (I don't see a way to use the Mac's Control key.)

I changed the syntax to

<Entry Key="Alt;Ctrl;P" Command="25014" Param="0" />

(Command + Option + p) to make it a little less likely to conflict with some other shortcut.

But I cannot make the network error message go away short of turning off the Firewall altogether. @bMinor, are you running Yosemite?
