convert playlist to mp3 for cd burning

I want to convert a playlist to mp3 and burn it to a cd--BUT I do not want the songs in the main 'audio' library to also be converted to mp3. Is there a way to just convert the playlist to mp3 without affecting the same songs in the library? Main library is in m4a Apple lossless. Sorry if this has been covered before, but my searches were fruitless.

Go to Action Window > Burn Disc and choose the conversion. Then add the Apple lossless and in this way the MP3 will not be imported in your library.
