Pioneer LX88 Audio bit streaming issues
« on: January 09, 2015, 02:29:42 pm »

I've an odd problem with my current setup.   GTX 650 card HDMI to a Pioneer LX88.   I look at the Windows sound settings and it tells me all audio formats are supported - DTS/DD Plus/DTS-HD/TrueHD.

The problem is I can't bitstream DTS-HD or TrueHD nor bitstream Atmos content and MC fails with an unsupported content error, even though it is.

Using Monitor Asset Manager I can query the device and it tells me:

CE audio data (formats supported)
LPCM    2-channel, 16/20/24 bit depths at 32/44/48/88/96/176/192 kHz
LPCM    8-channel, 16/20/24 bit depths at 32/44/48/88/96/176/192 kHz
  AC-3    6-channel,  640k max. bit rate at 32/44/48 kHz
DTS     7-channel, 1536k max. bit rate at 44/48/88/96 kHz
  SACD    6-channel                      at 44 kHz
  DD+     8-channel, 16-bit              at 44/48 kHz
  DTS-HD  8-channel, 16-bit              at 44/48/88/96/176/192 kHz
  DVD-A   8-channel, 16-bit              at 44/48/88/96/176/192 kHz

CE speaker allocation data
  Channel configuration.... 7.1
  Front left/right......... Yes
  Front LFE................ Yes
  Front center............. Yes
  Rear left/right.......... Yes
  Rear center.............. No
  Front left/right center.. No
  Rear left/right center... Yes
  Rear LFE................. No

I particularly want Atmos content to be recognised so its correctly processed onboard and likewise would expect all content to be passed through.

Various 7.1, Atmos and HD audio content here - http://www.demo-world.eu/2d-demo-trailers-hd/

Thanks
