"pops" in playback

getting random pops/clicks in audio playback of some (not all) media. Seems most prominent in 2 channel music of all formats. Videos with various audio ( DTS-MA, DolbyD, etc ) play absolutely clean. 6 Channel SACD seems clean too..

Perplexed. help appreciated.
