Galaxy S5 Sync
« on: October 19, 2014, 10:54:47 am »

I've got a new Galaxy S5 64gb sd added that I thought I'd put some music on.  I selected a couple of playlist and sync'd.  Sync seems to go ok but I get a weird error box after.
I've got an error log that I can't figure out what the problem is.  One line below:
"0010953: 2684: Handheld: CHHUploadHelper::CreateDeleteArray: Not deleting 'SAMSUNG-SM-G900V - Card\DCIM\Camera\20141017_180734.jpg' because it's media type (Image) or file type (jpg) isn't getting synced"

Where do I start to figure this out?
Thanks!

In the device options you have to specify what types of files to sync.  * means all types.  mp3;jpg;wav would restrict the those 3 types.
It seems you don't have jpg in the allowed list.

Thanks but, that's not it.  I checked "music" and left the other two un-checked and got the same error.  Here's another one:
"0010953: 2684: Handheld: CHHUploadHelper::CreateDeleteArray: Not deleting 'SAMSUNG-SM-G900V - Card\MUSIC\Alison Krauss\Now That I've Found You  A Collection\Krauss Alison - The Smile on Your Face.mp3' because it isn't located in the path 'Music\Alison Krauss\Now That I've Found You: A Collection\'"

I also just noticed that when I look at the device the files like this that say "not deleting" have the file *.mp3 plus *.mp3.dup (both the same size).
Seems almost like instead of skipping files that are already on the device, it's adding another copy of all the files in the playlist.

For android, the best approach seems to be to sync to a folder on your hard drive.  Then use Android File Transfer to copy the synced folder contents to the android device.

My S6 syncs fine since I carved a single large Playlist I had marked to sync into several much smaller lists.  I just carved it into individual genres, keeping each smartlist to under 1000 songs.
