How do I change video DVD burn to 16:9

Hi

I burned a 16:9 MKV movie to DVD, the final result was very good quality but the aspect ratio on the DVD was 4:3. My question, how do I burn to DVD while maintaining the 16:9 aspect ratio of the original MKV file?
