APE 4.12 Update?

Shunt this to the public area if it makes sense.

Wandered over to the APE version log as chance would have it and
noticed within MC for Windows that it's one version behind on 4.11.

I recognise that 4.12 covers:

Changed: Numerous fixes for OSX and 64-bit compatibility.

So, the former doesn't apply to MC for Windows but the latter might (depending because I understand that MC uses a 32bit architecture). Given that MC for OSX is a going concern, has it been blessed with APE 4.12?

Just asking out of idle interest.

The versioning is a little messy.  We use the 4.11 code in the program, but all the changes for Mac and 64-bit came from work and changes at JRiver.  I suppose we could move over to the 4.12 code, but there are a couple JRiver-specific tweaks we've made.

Hi astromo. I suppose you are aware that the Matt Ashland at MC and the Matt Ashland who wrote APE are actually the same guy. Just checking...

Yes, I wrote APE when I was in college.  It's sad that I do that kind of thing for fun. 

It's what landed me the job at JRiver though.

A little story.  I was in college after graduating valedictorian from high school.  I was intending to go for a long time, and get some sort of doctorate.  

Then JRiver took me out to lunch and threw a job offer at me.  I think it killed my parents, but I took the job offer thinking I can always go back if it doesn't work out.  That was a long time ago, and the rest is history.

We've now built MC and ported it to all the major platforms.  Wow.

JRiver has liked me enough to promote me to the CTO.

Yeah, they're really happy.

I'm joking a little about it killing them, because they were actually really supportive through it all.

Of course we all wondered if JRiver was just planning on stealing Monkey's Audio and then firing me.  But they didn't :P

Like I said, thank you Jim.  I've built such a nice life and it's all thanks to him.

And his support as I went through the brain injury this last year was just unbelievable.  Wow, it's really amazing.

In other news, the JRiver version will now use the 4.13 code.  I merged the JRiver specific changes into the main code, so we're all good.
