I just tried to delete a file the media library, but the file was delted from my hard drive.  Where can I find the file?  Is there an duplicate somewhere on my computer??

Any help is appreciated, I have just lost 1 of 25 files need for a double CD-R.  (Can not be replaced.)

1. Try the recycle bin.

2. Do a search using windows explorer.

3. Pray for a miracle.

Next time when you delete files from MC carefully read the 3 options as it's only the last one that would delete the file permanently from your HDD.

If you deleted it from your hard drive, and it is not in the recycle bin, don't lose hope.  Most often the file is actually still on the hard drive, it's just been removed from the table of contents.  Unless you have written a lot of other data to the hard drive since you deleted, there is a good chance that it can still be recovered.  You could use a freeware program like PC Inspector File Recovery to try and retrieve it.  You can download a copy from http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/UK/welcome.htm
