Local library not being backed up when using remote library.
« on: February 07, 2015, 08:49:25 am »

I guess its understandable, but the local library is not backed up (automatically) when you are connected to a remote library with the client. It would be nice if it did however, the library content itself isn't as important of course, but a lot of the settings are stored in the "local library", (like for instance remote commands and so on)

The Local Library will have been backed up the last time it was used, though. So what difference does it make?

There are a lot of things that get backed up when the library is backed up that aren't necessarily related to the library as a database.

He's concerned that changes to local configuration settings (like audio output modes or remote commands) will not be backed up.  You can change your local config while using a remote library.  If you make (for example) a lot of changes to DSP on a library client those don't necessarily get automatically backed up anywhere (unless you switch to a local library for some reason periodically).

It might be nice if local configuration settings got auto-backed up on a different track from the library/database. As it is it's just something you have to remember to do manually when making changes on clients.

As mwilliams said, you can make a lot of changes that you want to keep without using the local library.

Yeah. That's true.
