5TillFree wrote the following in the .260 bug thread:

I STILL have the same problem ripping consecutive CD's. Media Center ALWAYS hangs. What a pain. Come on when are you going to fix this? I've NEVER even gotten an acknowledgement of this problem Jim - no help.

This is DEFINITELY A SHOP STOPPER! FIX IT BEFORE RELEASE! PLEEEEEEAAAAAASE!

I'm starting this thread on 5TillFree's behalf since he PM'd me asking for advice given that I said I'd seen the problem too.

Now then 5TillFree, you say you have had no help but that's not true.  I advised you to:

1. Follow Jim's advice and start a new thread rather than keep reporting it in the bug threads.

2. Try turning off auto insert notification.

I have seen you report the problem again (9.1 Release thread) but see no new thread.  Did you try turning off auto insert notification like I said?  I ran the tests as promised, recreated the problem and auto insert notification seemed to fix it for me.

Give it a try and let me know if it fixes your problem.

I should have said how to do it:

1) Open "Control Panel" and click on the "System" icon.

 2) Select the "Device Manager" tab.

 3) Click on the CDROM icon

 4) For each CDROM device in the list, disable the "Auto Insert Notification" option.

 Click on "OK"
