Sync Device - Delete from Handheld Not Working?

I have an external drive that I sync to from MC20 (latest build). Most files are FLAC with conversion to MP3. I have the option checked to "Delete from handheld any files not in sync list", but it does not seem to be happening. Files are not being deleted. Any help here?

Cool. Maybe I should provide more detail, because I can almost imagine that my process may be contributing to the problem. Here's a specific instance...

I have an album that is encoded as FLAC. I sync to the device with convert to MP3 enabled. Then, I change the name of the album and sync again. I end up with MP3 files of both albums, though the previous album name no longer exists in the sync list. I hope that explanation makes sense.
