License Problem
« on: March 05, 2015, 03:44:56 pm »

I selected and paid for the mac version of MC20 but installing has been difficult.

I have a trial version installed though I did not knowingly select it, and it apparently does not play my DSD files as DSD, only as 96K sample rate.

The downloaded file which I bought and have a registration code for is mediacenter200064.dmg, or at least that is the only one in my download list.  Trying to install it only brings up the MC icon which starts my trial version.  I do not see a menu bar for example, just the one music album I've downloaded so far.

Also when I try to open the other MC downloaded document (mediacenter20mac-289141.mjr) I get an error message saying "no available application can open it."

I also saw the page which says to check the version vs. my OS.  It did not elaborate as to how to do that.

You just want to enter your code when you run MC:
1X525-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-MPXA2

It will go online and do the license restore for you.

You posted on the Windows board.  You said you purchased a Mac license.

This might help:

All I have is a trial copy.  There's no place to enter the code.  But I did try the restore from one of the seemingly dozens of pages I've been to.  Did not help.

There's no email to contact a rep from JRiver, no phone number I can find to talk to anyone.  So how does a person get a refund?

The trial copy is all you need. There's a menu item under the Help menu that'll allow you to copy and paste your license into to unlock it. Basically go to Help > Install License... and copy and paste your license key in and press OK.

The other obvious problem here is that for whatever reason Media Center 20 isn't being set as the default application for the .mjr (license) file. Perhaps a little tutorial is needed to help users manually fix this when this issue occurs?

Just use this page.

Report what you do and what happens.

Do not post your license.

Awesome, I think that before I tried your suggestion, I somehow stumbled upon getting it registered.  I got a message to that affect and the "install" option was not in the list under help.  Is there a way now to verify that it is no longer a trial and is the full version?  Something that identifies it as such?

And this is a little different topic, but is there type of setting I need to do with MC such that my DSD audio file plays as DSD on my new DAC, which is capable of playing DSD?  The DAC identifies the file as playing at 96,000 sample rate, which would be a PCM file.

The license status is shown under the Help menu.

Please start a thread (New Topic) for other questions.

Hello audio-4-life,

As for your first question, Help > Registration info...

As for your second one, by searching this forum, you will be able to find the answer. :) Please take a look at http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=94492.0 ;) If you have any further question regarding DSD, you can just start a new thread. :)

Have a good weekend!

Best regards,
Y. G.
