troubleshooting wacky audio
« on: October 06, 2003, 03:59:48 am »

Beginning with the 266 build of MC9.1, I notice tracks beginning to play very poorly (... garbled, and playing somewhat slowly ...).  It will happen after a few tracks, and this is a different problem than I posted previously (re: directsound output).  Rebooting helps this problem, but it is intermittant to the degree I wonder how I will troubleshoot it while it's happening.  I have a feeling it may have something to do with home LAN traffic, and another computer sharing files with a "mapped as drive" directory on my HTPC computer.

I hadn't noticed this before, so I have a feeling it can be fixed ... but how do I troubleshoot it and provide you with the pertinent information?  Because the problem is fleeting, I also don't know for sure it began with build 266.

I should have also included my CPU for indicating the problem should not be with processor power.

P4/2.4GHz + 512Mb RAM

... but I suppose I should check Windows "resources", but I don't know how.
