Hello, I have a little problem with some HD mkv files. When played I get 8 channels according to Audio Path. However in my library it says 6 channels in the tag. This way it is hard to know what movies are 7.1 and which are not. I only have two files/movies that are 8 channel listed. From various topics I read I put the dtsdecoderdll in both Windows and JRiver folders as advised. After doing so it played also 7.1 on my Onkyo 636 from my new MiniX Z64 from files that have "6 channels" according the tag.

Is there a way to change this so I can see and search for 8 channel movies? The only other option is to add an extra tag to a 7.1 movie.

This is a known limitation with DTS-HD movies. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it at this time.

I know this is really annoying. I have created my own tag called Audchnl and I fill this in manually. AFAIK, only 7.1 channel DTS-HD MA file are affected by this problem.

I started today adding "7.1 Channels" into the comment tag. This way I can keep track of those movies.
I'm checking a list that has all the 7.1 movies available.
I bought some months ago a large amount of Blu-rays (500+) from someone that sold his collection and I know there are discs that have the same problem.
I finally have a great working surround system and I prefer to watch 7.1 movies now.
I'm still not sure if this is a MC20 problem or a common problem with those specific files...

Its a MC problem. However, there might be light at the end of the tunnel, and this problem may get resolved "soon" (say, a month). As a bonus, also playback without the extra DLL.
Please note that these improvements will, for now, only be in the Windows version, due to vastly different Video support.

Hendrik has hinted "native DTS-HD MA" decoding in LAV/MC for beginning of this year. Good to hear that this is still coming.
