No subwoofer only on one blu-ray
« on: March 14, 2015, 02:17:27 pm »

Playing VC-1 encoded bluray results in only occasional subwoofer output. All other blue-rays, mp3 and FLAC files play subwoofer fine. Whether I am playing multi-channel surround encoded material or 2 channel stereo, JRiver properly sends bass to the subwoofer and upmixes to 7.1

Only one track on VC-1 bluray (David Gilmour- Remember that Night) plays subwoofer bass. Track 2 (Pink Floyd- Time) plays subwoofer bass only during the intro, then the subs cut out once the song begins. This is driving me crazy. If I switch to the 2 channel stream, I get bass. But if I switch to either 5.1 stream on the bluray, I get no bass (except for the intro of "time" and then no bass again).

I thought it was an FFDshow problem and so I installed the CCCP CODEC package. Rebooted. No change. Still no subwoofer.

Running Windows7- 64.
