Copying Everything To a New Hard Drive
« on: March 07, 2015, 07:44:07 pm »

Since I have zero problems with JRiver, I haven't been on the boards much, but something came up.
I am replacing my 3tb internal drive with a 6tb unit.
JRiver points to my current drive as D:\Music.
If I copy the contents of my current drive to a new drive, remove the old drive, & install the new drive as D:/Music, the exact same path, will there be any problems.
The new drive will have the exact same path as the old drive, with an exact copy of the old drive's contents.
I tried a search, but so many hits were returned, which didn't apply, that I got a headache and  I decided to post.
Thanks.

If the directory structure is identical, it will work.

The wiki has a topic called "Moving files".  It might help if you have problems.

Thank you.
I was hoping that was the case.
