I have most of my music & images stored on an external 250GB drive - however, I have a subset stored on a laptop, which is used for DJing and travel.

What is the best way of managing this?

1) To keep two separate library files, one pointing at the external HD, and the other at the laptop HD, and switch between them as needed?

2) Or is there a way to use MC to manage files on both locations at once? Ideally, I could treat the external HD as the main library, and the laptop HD as a "portable device", and manage it by synching playlists etc.
