if you are interested check ou Lake Meade water supply -- Viva Las Vegas! Its levels could go lower than before they built the Hoover dam -- in 2010 -25 more feet (not meters) and they can't cool the power plants  Lake meade supplies all of Southern California, Vegas and parts of Arizona. The Vegas Hotels want to put in a 285 mile pipeline to steal obtain additional water from other places. After all you need canals in a desert right, its natural

I did read about it : water waste is terrible in Vegas.
In 20 years Ca. residents will do like the long gone ISS : recycling piss for re-usable water and dry wash their hair.

The problem is more about population than water or greenhouse gases.

In my life time, the world population of humans has gone from about 2.4 billion to about 7.2 billion.  That's 3x in a very short time.  That sort of explosion is usually followed by a collapse in other species.

No offense but it's dodging the issue about the "confort and leisure" we want to live in.
The biggest rise of the Ca. Population in the 20th century was during the WWII production effort + 45% [war in the Pacific].
Water supply on the West Coast was ok then.

The population of California was 18,000,000 when I lived there in the 60's.  It's now 38,000,000.  Twice as many people, twice as much water, or more.

Las Vegas population growth is probably even higher.

there is plenty of water in the Ocean, as a matter of fact there is more than ever, and rising.

when I water my lawn it is pumped from my ground to the house where it then goes back into the ground.

maybe they need to stop crying about the lack of water, and just need to build more Desalination plants.

Yes, I know it costs more, so does Oil that will run out sooner, and is the real problem in our future.
