When i try to configure Media Center for tv-watching, i get promt to choose a country from the dropdown-list. The problem is that there isn't any country in the list, it's emty.
Media Center is then locked and i got to do the "ctrl,alt,del" ting.
I am using version 9.1.265

It worked before in a earlier version, but i can't remember what version it was.

What TV card do you have? Have you made any changes in your system, especially have you installed a new driver for your TV card, since TV last worked?

Having no country in the list means the driver reports to my program that it supports none of the possible TV standards.

I got a Cinergy 400Tv card from TerraTec, and i did not install any new drivers. It stopped working around version 9.1.251 of Media Center.

I also tried to uninstall the drivers just to see if it would make any differents if i installed them again.

I had the same problem a while ago.

It has been solved by de-installing directx 9.0b and go back to directx 9.0

Ok, i would like to try that. Does anybody know how to get DirectX 9?
All downloads leads directly to DX9b. ?

DirectX 9.0b has a few more bugs than we can tolerate. Stay away from it.

It stopped working around version 9.1.251 of Media Center.

TV component remained the same between MC 9.1.238 and 9.1.263. So your problem must have been triggered by something else.

I believe DirectX can not be uninstalled. You can use system restore (if you use Windows XP).

DirectX 9.0b was released on 7/23/03 to address the MIDI security issue
identified in bulletin MS03-030.  A small number of non-security fixes were
also included in the release.  One of these fixes caused several TV Tuner
capture card/driver combinations using video formats other than NTSC
(NTSC-J, PAL, SECAM) to no longer initialize correctly on Windows 2000,
Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003.  Symptoms include loss of capture
functionality and potential inability to set/retain device capture settings.
A hotfix, documented further in Knowledge Base article 825116, has been
issued to correct the flaw.

I also read on the same Microsoft board that the patch for 9.0b does not work for many. I do not know if they refer to the same patch, or whether Microsoft provided new patches (that would be patch on patch?).
